Russia warns US against military strike on Iran

Moscow’s warned Washington against striking Iran. Russia’s chief-of-staff revealed on Wednesday the U.S. could attack Iran after wrapping up its campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan. Lehti: Obama lisää vaivihkaa joukkoja Afganistanissa

Helsingin Sanomat / STT (2009-10-13) Yhdysvaltain presidentti Barack Obama paisuttaa kaikessa hiljaisuudessa amerikkalaisjoukkojen määrää Afganistanissa, kirjoittaa Washington Post -lehti. Lehden mukaan Yhdysvallat on lähettämässä Afganistaniin 13 000 sotilasta enemmän kuin mitä julkisesti on ilmoitettu. Obama kertoi maaliskuussa vahvistavansa Afganistanissa olevia joukkoja 21 000 sotilaalla. Sen lisäksi presidentti on kuitenkin hyväksynyt 13 000 lisäjoukon lähettämisen Afganistaniin.
